If you’re somewhat inexperienced with cooking tofu, or you’re just looking for a simple recipe that offers some new tastes and textures, this is a great one to try out.

The real key to this recipe is using silken tofu. This is the softest and most fragile tofu, crucial for achieving the crispy outside and plush inside that characterizes traditional braised tofu. Everything starts with prepping your tofu and veggies, followed by marinating the Impossible Beef. You’ll then carefully pan fry the tofu slices on each side and place them on a separate plate while you stir fry the Impossible Beef and veggies.   • 1 package Impossible™ Beef Meat From Plants
  • 3 Boxes of Vitasoy Sansui Silken Organic Tofu
  • 6 Shitake Mushrooms
  • 1/2 Carrot
  • Chopped Spring Onion To Taste
  • Fresh Coriander To Taste
  • Vegetarian Oyster Sauce, 3 Tablespoons
  • Soy Sauce, 6 Teaspoons
  • Dark Soy Sauce, 3 Teaspoons
  • Sugar, 3 Teaspoons
  • Mushroom Powder, 3 Teaspoons
  • 1.25 cup Water
  • White Pepper, 2 Teaspoons

How to prepare

Step 1: PREP YOUR INGREDIENTS

Cut the tofu into thick slices, pat dry and set aside. Cut the mushrooms and carrot into slices.

Step 2: MARINATE THE IMPOSSIBLE

Add Impossible™ Beef and marinade ingredients in a bowl, mix and set aside for 10 minutes.

Step 3: COOK THE TOFU

Heat a pan with 2 tablespoons of oil over medium heat, add tofu and pan fry both sides until golden. Transfer to plate and set aside.

Step 4: COOK THE IMPOSSIBLE

Using medium heat, stir fry the marinated Impossible Beef, mushrooms and carrots for a few minutes until all the ingredients are cooked through.

Step 5: FINISH IT OFF

Toss in seasoning ingredients and pour in the water. Return the cooked tofu back into the pan and cook until the sauce has reduced.

Step 6: SERVE AND ENJOY

Sprinkle some chopped green onion and coriander to serve. Makes 6 portions.
