- 4 Potato Buns, toasted
- Remoulade Sauce
- Baked Okra
- Onion Rings
- 4 Slices Gruyère Cheese Or Plant Based Gruyère Cheese
Remoulade Sauce
- 1 Cup Mayo or Plant-Based Mayo
- 1 tbsp Whole Grain Mustard
- 1 tbsp Prepared Horseradish
- 1 tbsp Fresh Lemon Juice
- 1 tbsp Pickle Relish
- 1 tsp Paprika
- 1/2 tsp Hot Sauce
- Kosher Salt To Taste
- Freshly Ground Black Pepper To Taste
- 1/4 Cup Finely Chopped Green Onions
- 1 tbsp Finely Chopped Fresh Parsley
- 1 Small Stalk Celery, Finely Chopped
- 1 Clove Garlic, Minced

- 1/2 lb Fresh Okra
- 1 Tbsp Olive Oil
- Kosher Salt To Taste
Onion Rings
- 1 Package Frozen Beer Battered Onion Rings
- 1 tbsp Cajun Seasoning
How to prepare
Step 1: Make the Remoulade Sauce
Combine mayo, mustard, horseradish, lemon juice, relish, 1 teaspoon cajun seasoning, paprika, and hot sauce in a medium sized bowl. Mix to combine thoroughly, and then add green onions, parsley, celery, and garlic, and stir to incorporate. Season to taste with Kosher salt and black pepper. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
Step 2: Roast the okra
In a preheated 450°F oven, roast okra tossed in olive oil and seasoned to taste with Kosher salt for about 15 minutes, stirring or shaking the pan about every five minutes. The okra should be nicely charred on the outside.
Step 3: Make the Onion Rings
Prepare the onion rings according to package instructions. While still hot, dust with 1 tablespoon cajun seasoning and toss to coat.
Step 4: Cook the Impossible Indulgent Burgers
Over medium-high heat, sear your burgers in a pan or on the grill to desired temperature (approximately 2 minutes per side). Season with salt and pepper as desired. Once you flip from the first side, top with Gruyere cheese slices to melt and toast buns in the pan or on the grill while the cheese is melting. Substitute your favorite plant-based Swiss cheese slices for a plant-based option!
Step 5: Build Your Burgers
Spread a generous amount of the remoulade sauce on the bottom of each bun, and top with burger patty and melted cheese. Pile cajun dusted onion rings onto each burger patty (as many as you prefer), followed by top buns with more remoulade sauce. Spear some additional onion rings and roasted okra on top of the burgers, or serve on the side. Enjoy!
